Fermo Open Street & Berlin - the Autumn Tour 2011

So, here ends the touring season for 2011.  It's been an amazing year, filled with trips all over europe - 10 countries in total, meeting wonderful people, playing music to people from all over the world.   A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made this summer that extra bit special - even a smile made it all worth it.

Just back from FERMO in Italy for the Open Street showcase - performing and chatting to 40 to 50 festival organisers from around the world.  We then popped into Berlin for a quick show and to see some lovely friends.  We'll be back to Berlin soon - it's a wonderful city.

Brighton is our home, but the world is our oyster, or speckled clam, or tasty king prawn.  As ever, we are always looking for new places to play, new swing events, festivals/events and people to work with.  Get in touch with us if you want the Ninjas to make you smile.  We're not in the music business - we're in the Happiness business.

Ciao Ninji! Ninjas in Ferrara Buskers Festival, 2011

Well, most of the summer touring is over.  We've been to 10 countries and met some wonderful people, played some good music and eaten amazing food everywhere we've been.

Our latest awe-inspiring festival was the Ferrara Buskers Festival in the beautiful Ferrara, near Bologna in Italy.  Stunning town, fantastically hot, playing every night for hours to wonderful, appreciative, beautiful people.  We were one of the 20 invited bands paid to be there, so were looked after well.  Happy Ninjas make for happy audiences - so we sold out of our CD and were overwhelmed by people telling us how much they enjoyed what we do.  A huge GRAZIE to everyone who made our trip so amazing ...

The Swing Ninjas are performing constantly still, putting heart and soul into every note played - whether it's as a wedding band, corporate band, circus band, festival band or just playing in the street.  Watch this space - winter 2011 and Summer 2012 will be even bigger and better!

Sarnico Buskers Festival, Heidi Land

Another successful Ninja tour comes to a close.  Photos a-plenty monitoring these lucious sun-filled days on the road:

The highlights included: Excessive cheese, sharing a patch with a disabled clown, Jamie (guitar) being sick into the lake after some dodgey cheese, busking in Chur to lovely people who bought all our CDs, drinkies on the balcony above Lago Maggiore, excessive cheese.

As ever, we are performing as festivals, weddings, Lindy Hop and swing dance events around the globe.  We are busy but always looking for new gigs and events to play at - get in touch if you want to have us play at a venue, festival and event near you!

Meatballs, Ikea, ABBA. Oh yes.

Indeed, it's the Swing Ninjas tour of Sweden, commencing Thursday 14th July.  We will start our journey in Gothenburg.  Busking in the streets of this beautiful old city, thereafter heading to play a gig in Tivedstorp - a tiny town between Gothenburg and Stockholm.  Personally, I hope there are forest folk there, perhaps a bear, and lots of saunas.  Fingers crossed.

We continue on to Stockholm, with detail TBC on any gigs, but thereafter we will be at Herräng Dance Camp 2011 - the biggest event of its kind - 5 weeks of swing dance classes and raging.  More swing dancing that you can shake a pickled herring at.

This will mark the first trip, hopefully of many, of The Swing Ninjas to Scandinavian.  Our spiritual home in Brighton, The Northern Lights bar, guides us there so long may our love affair with the Scandies continue!  Meatball anyone?

The Champagne and Poached Snail Tour 2011 Begins 1st July

Sacre Bleau! The Champagne and Poached Snail Tour 2011 kicks off on Friday, 1st July in Paris.  A few days of busking and eating amazing pastries, then we continue on to Luxembourg for Sunday 3rd July.  We're all rather excited to see what Luxembourg treats await.  The tour will finish in Amsterdam around 5th July.

This road trip will see a return for the Swing Ninjas back to the street - where we began life a couple of years ago.  There's something quite amazing about connecting with people in public spaces - a connection which can't really be recreated anywhere else.

This summer has been delicious thus far - festivals, weddings, clubs and events, both in the UK and abroad, with more UK, Sweden, Italy, Switzerland and Malta to come.  We are also trying to do a lot more Lindy Hop, swing dancing events around the world.  The dancers love our music, and we love their dancing!

We are still around locally though, so keep eyes, ears, feet peeled for a sudden appearance of The Swing Ninjas to an event near you ...

Q&A : Can we hire The Swing Ninjas for a private function?

People often ask us if we do private events.  The answer, of course, is a resounding YES!  In the past we've played a plethora of weddings, house parties, festivals, corporate events, engagement parties, club nights, swing dance nights, lindy hop events, dance classes, birthday parties and even funerals.

We go down particularly well at weddings, where we can serenade young and old alike.  Recently we had a conga-line going en route to cutting the cake!  We are equally at home playing as the band around canapes early on in the day, or the main event on stage later in the evening, or both!

We will keep appearing at festivals, clubs and events near you ... or even be your wedding band?  Who knows?!  Get in touch if you would like us to play at your event or have somewhere we can play - we're busy, but always looking for new places :)
